PV installations back as a no-brainer – for a short while
It seems there is still time to install home Photovoltaics and benefit from the higher Feed -In Tariffs on offer. The High Court decision to strike out the 12 December as the effective date for FIT tariff reductions means that the race is back on to install Photovoltaics as soon as possible to take advantage of the 44.3p per unit tariff currently available.
As we understand it, the ruling means that the government cannot change the tariffs until at least 40 days after they have been laid before parliament. This means the earliest date from which the new tariffs could be implemented would be 19 February. So .. if you are one of those who thought you’d just missed the boat – you might not have done!
Friends of the Earth and two solar firms brought the successful challenge (read their press release here).
