The World Record was broken twice  as the Stretton Duck Races outshone the Olympics on 5th May

In the first race All Quacked Up (No 25) streaked home in 2 minutes 17

6 seconds, but his world record stood for less than half an hour; in the second race of the day, Jazz-loving New Orleans-born Duck Ellington (No 53) steered a faultless line through a course officially described as ‘Slick’ to record an amazing 2 minutes 9

0 seconds

The effort clearly exhausted him as he failed to show in any of the remaining eight races, and as the water levels dropped during the day, winning times fell back to around 2 minutes 30 seconds

Our grateful thanks go to all our wonderful volunteers who took money, prodded ducks and helped the day go so well; and to our generous Sponsors:
