MAKE YOUR OWN CIDER! An Apple Pressing Day on 27 OCTOBER from 10.00 at the National Trust Chalet Tea Rooms
Start saving those empty plastic milk bottles now, and bring your windfall apples to be pressed for juice. Empty plastic milk bottles make ideal containers (which you can recycle after use!). Drink it immediately – the juice is a really refreshing drink full of vitamin C, or freeze it within 24 hours, and it will keep for months (if you don’t freeze it you will either get cider or cider vinegar from it, which is always an option some of us would be happy to pursue!). A small charge will be made for use of the crusher and the press, and proceeds will be split between the Trust and Stretton Climate Care.
