A day at the races! Something to look forward to whilst I suffer from sunlight deficiency disorder. 14th May is in my diary.

Four more ducks have landed on my garden pond to begin their familiarisation ready for May 14th. If I can get close enough, I will snap them and put the picture on Facebook. Keep watching!!!

Strangely enough, Jeremy Leggett doesn't say anything about ducks in his brilliant new book "The Winning of the Carbon War"! But everyone should still read the book, and then come to the races with a smile on your face.

Ecoreader- that is the most tenuous link ever! Although, talking of winning...it's not the winning, it's the taking part, and ...participation in the Carbon War would be a start! You are right- the book is brilliant, and you can read it between races (Perhaps Jeremy Leggett would like to come to Cardingmill Valley on 14 May...)

Went into the Carding Mill tea rooms today. Duck biscuits will definitely be on the menu Duck Racing day, Saturday 14th May. Hope to see you there!

The National Trust staff in Carding Mill Valley are looking forward to an exciting day at the races. Water levels are high and the course is medium to fast.
