Demand continues to be very high, and The Centre for Sustainable Energy’s newsletter points out some of the pitfalls:
“The Government recently announced that the Green Homes Grant will be extended to March 2022. Though this is welcome there are still obstacles to overcome, as Ian Preston our Head of Household Energy Services explores in this blog post.” Green Homes Grant: a stimulus that could generate mostly frustration.

If applying for renewable heating it is a primary measure and will only attract maximum of £5000, however you can then apply for a Renewable Heat Incentive grant (RHI) and take off the value of the Green Homes voucher. (RHI pays back over a period of seven years.) Together they could well cover the entire cost of bio mass heating or an air source heat pump installation. The RHI grant also ceases 31st March 2022.
