There must be “rapid, deep and immediate” cuts in carbon emissions … and they must peak within the next three years to avoid the worst of the impacts …. even if all the policies to cut carbon that Government’s have pledged are achieved, the world will still warm by 3.2C this century.

Keeping the temperature down will require MASSIVE changes to energy production, industry, transport, our consumption patterns and the way we treat nature.

There is hope in the report and some controversy as it says mechanical carbon capture and storage must become part of the plan.
