Many thanks for attending the People’s Emergency Briefing on Tuesday 5 May, and for confirming that you would like to participate in our follow-up meeting to discuss actions that we can take locally in more detail. This follow-up meeting will be held on Tuesday 19th May, 7pm, at the United Reformed Church hall again. Note that the agenda will be sent out a couple of days before the meeting). If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact [email protected]Don’t forget to write to your local MPA key followup action from the meeting is to write to your MP. Share your reactions to the film, encourage him/her to attend a screening themselves, and request s/he asks the Government to organise national screenings via TV and social media so that everyone understands the challenges we face. (We are aware that South Shropshire MP Stuart Anderson has particular interests related to national security, energy security, food security, nature, the farming community and is supportive of nature based solutions to flooding, so these may be points to refer to if writing to him).Would you be prepared to set-up a screening yourself? The film is now rolling out across the UK, with nearly 800 screenings so far. The goal is ambitious: to reach every constituency and brief as many people as possible with this vital information.Would you be interested in helping more screenings happen in the area? Many community groups including Women’s Institute branches, Religious organisations, Local councils, etc, are hosting screenings for their members so if you’re involved in a group locally perhaps you could encourage them to show the film.
There are many ways to get involved. You might choose to host a screening yourself, help organise one, connect the national organisers to a venue or workplace, or simply spread the word to people you think would be interested.
To explore this, the team behind the film is hosting a short online session called “How to Bring a Screening to Your Community” – a chance to see how you could play a part, with no commitment required.
There are two options to help with availability, both using this Zoom link:
Monday 18th May: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Tuesday 19th May: 1pm – 2pm
