The People’s Emergency Briefing is coming to Church Stretton

The People’s Emergency Briefing is coming to Church Stretton

You are warmly invited to attend a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing at the United Reformed Church Hall on Tuesday 5th May. Doors open at 6.45pm and the film will start promptly at 7pm.

Please note: The film is only being shown at in-person screenings, not online. It is suitable for ages 16 years and over. Bring a friend or neighbour!

This 45-minute eye-opening film features nine leading scientists and experts updating us on the latest news on the climate and nature crisis and its impact on our everyday life. Everyone in our community is invited to attend and to take part in the discussion afterwards.

Topics covered include extreme weather, food security, health, and the cost of living.

The film presents a clear, measured overview of how the climate and nature crisis is affecting everyday life in Britain – and what the evidence says about risks and responses.

The initiative is supported by a wide range of organisations including National Trust, Church of England, the Royal Meteorological Society, Worldwide Fund for Nature, National Education Union, and many more.

It is being shown in many locations across the country. If you can’t make the 5th May, check the national website for alternative screenings (note the website is continually updated as more screenings are added).

Following the film there will be an open discussion allowing everyone to consider the information presented and how we can take action to do something about it. Don’t miss this important event.
