Carbon emissions to be cut 78% by 2035. We await announcement as to how this will be achieved. For the first time climate law will include international aviation and shipping. There is concern that previous promises of tougher targets have not been kept.
No more coal yet the Cumbrian mine decision is still outstanding
Still the possibility of more licences for Oil and Gas drilling in the North Sea
Green Homes Voucher scheme suddenly withdrawn
Subsidy on electric cars slashed
Lack of clarity on the Prime Ministers wonderful 10 point plan.
We are still behind on numerous of the Climate Change Committee’s recommendations.

The Government Climate Change Committee's advice has at last been accepted by Government BUT in the past the rhetoric has not matched the reality and past targets have not been reached.
Will the proposed Cumbrian coal mine be approved? Will airport expansion be allowed? Will the announced multi billion pound road expansion plans be scrapped?
Business must be encouraged to invest and joe public must step up to the challenge. If there is to be any chance of these new and challenging targets being met it will require real effort by all sectors of the economy and the community.
I offer you the reader a challenge. What are you already doing, what would you like to achieve and what is stopping you from doing it?
