The Climate Change Committee has collaborated with the National Infrastructure Commission to write a joint letter to Prime Minister Liz Truss to ensure that reaching Net Zero is still an absolute priority for the new administration. The letter highlights credible policies for energy efficiency in buildings, measures to support low-carbon heating in homes, and removal of barriers to building renewables and other low-carbon energy projects as key areas of focus for the new Government.

The present energy price crisis MUST not be used as a excuse for the Government to miss their Zero carbon targets. They are already behind!
More licences for North Sea Gas and Oil drilling and allowing Fracking where communities approve is taking the U.K. in the opposite direction from a Zero Carbon future to combat Climate Change.
Oil and gas exploration takes time and the resulting carbon fuels will go on the international energy market doing little to reduce prices.
A quicker and more effective measure I suggest is to reduce consumption by a nation wide campaign to insulate homes and businesses.
