Local Cycling and Walking Plan – workshop to develop a response to this draft plan

Community Workshop-Local Cycling and Walking Implementation Plan (LCWIP)

Stretton Climate Care has arranged a Workshop to help develop its response to the draft LCWIP. This will be held in the Parish Centre, Church Street, Church Stretton at 7.15pm on Monday 5th June 2023.

We recognise that the Plan represents an opportunity to gain funding to improve local facilities for Cycling and Walking which is an essential part of reducing carbon emissions and achieving Net Zero. Some of the proposals have attracted understandable criticism and we would like to develop a positive response to the draft Plan setting out what could/should be done as far as is possible.

The Workshop will be led by our Secretary, Mike Hymas, who, many years ago, had responsibility for highways and transport issues in Shropshire.

Free event. Everyone welcome. We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas.

Do take a look at published documents which include individual draft plans for the seven Shropshire market towns. Lots to consider.
